About Us

 

DoughChicks was created by Denise to provide opportunities for her daughter Kara, who is on the autism spectrum. After graduating from high school, Kara attended culinary arts school, where she cultivated her passion for food. The DoughChicks are avid runners, cyclists, and foodies, which led to the development of a dried fruit and chocolate energy bar (The MIbar) with oats, nuts and Michigan honey.  Customers responded so well to the energy bar, they created gluten-free granolas, cashew brittle, pancake mix and, most recently developed several other flavors of The MIbar.  All the products are made with gluten-free, dairy-free and soy-free ingredients! DoughChicks process their products in a commercial kitchen in Kalamazoo, MI.
