Kara and her mom, Denise Steely, started out in the Farm Market Kitchen in Algoma, WI in 2006. Delivering breads and creative confections to school teachers, friends, and neighbors, and Caffe Tlazo, they soon became known as the “DoughChicks”, and Kara received a grant for young entrepreneurs.
Kara and Denise continued to grow DoughChicks and eventually relocated to Michigan to be near family, now processing their foods a licensed commercial kitchen.
