Hello Foodie Friends!
LOVING AUTUMN IN MICHIGAN
Autumn is upon us. I don’t know about you, but autumn is what I love about living in Michigan. Surprises drift in from all around us: transforming colors in the landscape, crisp and cool mornings, a thunderstorm or two, a weather forecast of 80°F by noon and 30°F by nightfall. I love surprises.
SUMMER FUN AND MARKETS
That being said, we loved taking advantage of every warm day this summer! Camping, bicycling, paddle boarding and a few runs with our pups kept us enjoying the season.
The summer weather also cooperated with us for the farmers’ markets. It was a great and fun season! We enjoyed being at the South Haven Farm Market on Wednesdays and The Kalamazoo Farmers’ Market on Saturdays and the Thursday night markets. Thank you to all who came to see us!
We will be at the Saturday Kalamazoo market through November AND at the LAST night market! The Night Market is Thursday, October 10 from 5pm-10pm. We would love to see you there!
SHOP A FARMERS’ MARKET AHEAD OF TIME
We have joined Farm Brigge! This is an easy way to shop a farmers’ market ahead of time. Join online at farmbrigge.com. You can shop a variety of local markets and then pick up your order at the market. This guarantees you get what you want with no waiting! Try it!
MICHIGAN FARMERS ASSOCIATION
We joined the Michigan Farmers Association which allowed us to participate in the Farmers’ Market at the Capitol in Lansing. It took place on 3 different Thursdays throughout the summer (July, August and September) during the day. We met many new customers and vendors. Visit mifma.org and sign up to receive information on local markets and to search for all Michigan markets. It’s pretty cool! We look forward to keeping in touch with each of every one of them. We are already looking forward to being in Lansing next year!
WINTER/INDOOR MARKETS
We are in the process of working on our winter schedule. Look for us occasionally at the Kalamazoo Bank Street Market in the Bingo Hall starting November 30 (Saturday after Thanksgiving). Please check in with us if you need anything and plan on going. Follow us on facebook.com/doughchick and Instagram @doughchick. We’ll post it to keep you updated.
